Nigeria’s total trade for the second quarter of 2024 reached N31.892 billion, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). This figure was detailed in the NBS Foreign Trade in Goods Statistics Report released in Abuja on Thursday.
The NBS noted that this total reflects a 3.76 percent decline from the value recorded in the first quarter of 2024, but shows a significant increase of 150.39 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
The report indicated that total exports amounted to N19,418.93 billion, making up 60.89 percent of the overall trade, while total imports were recorded at N12,473.53 billion. Additionally, total exports saw a rise of 1.31 percent compared to the N19,167.36 billion reported in the first quarter of 2024.
