The Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Suleman Kazaure, on Thursday, advised corps members to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneur Development (SAED) programmers put in place by the NYSC for their self-empowerment and benefits.
Kazaure made the appeal when he visited the Delta State permanent orientation camp of the NYSC located at Issele Uku.
He reminded them that it was no longer news that there were no white collar jobs anywhere in the country.
Kazuare urged the corps members to look inwards and embrace various SAED programmes.
He advised the corps members to learn some skills during the training, so as to be able to create jobs and be self-employed.
Kazuare also advised them to work toward the unity of the country, saying that there was no country like Nigeria on earth.
He advised them to be of good character, shun violence and avoid short cuts to wealth.
Earlier, the State Co-ordinator of the NYSC, Omotade Benjamin, said that the 2017 Batch B Stream 11 orientation course was a unique one.
Omotade said that Delta State was also having the exceptional privilege of hosting corps members deployed in Edo State for their induction and orientation.
He said that Edo and Delta were peaceful states that support youth development, assuring corps members of good hospitality from the residents of both states.
The co-ordinator assured the corps members that the SAED training would expose them to acquiring various skills and turn them into entrepreneurs after the service year.
