In a recent announcement, Dangote Refinery has confirmed that its ex-depot petrol price remains steady at N699 per litre.
The refinery communicated this update via its X account on Thursday, emphasizing the immediate availability of petrol for collection by petroleum marketers. This announcement follows a period where retail petrol prices in Abuja have seen a decrease, now ranging from N739 to N912 per litre at various filling stations.
It’s worth noting that just last week, the Dangote Refinery, boasting a 650,000 barrel-per-day capacity, lowered its ex-depot petrol price by N129, bringing it down from N828 to the current N699 per litre.
This price adjustment by Dangote Refinery has prompted a ripple effect, leading private depot owners to also reduce their prices to a range of N703 to N800 per litre.
Furthermore, Abubakar Maigandi, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), issued a statement on Thursday, encouraging IPMAN members to source their petrol from Dangote Refinery.
Maigandi also expressed enthusiasm about the recent agreement between Dangote Refinery and IPMAN. “We are delighted by Dangote Refinery’s commitment to directly supply PMS products to registered IPMAN members, with free delivery to our filling stations across Nigeria, commencing in January 2026,” he stated.
