On Friday, the Naira made a commendable comeback against the dollar in the official foreign exchange arena, concluding the week on a positive note.
Data from the Central Bank of Nigeria indicated that the Naira appreciated on Friday to N1,501.5 per dollar, a rise from the N1,502.13 recorded on Thursday.
This signifies a modest daily gain of N0.60 for the Naira.
Conversely, in the parallel market, the Naira slipped to N1,537 per dollar on Friday, a decline from the N1,530 observed the day prior.
During the week under consideration, despite a setback on Thursday, the Naira managed to advance by N13.4 against the dollar on a week-on-week basis, compared to the N1,514.9 exchanged the previous Friday.
This noteworthy development coincides with the country’s external reserves swelling to an impressive $41.66 billion as of September 11, 2025.
