Elon Musk’s Starlink Resumes Customer Activations in Nigeria

Elon Musk’s SpaceX Starlink, a satellite internet provider, has officially resumed customer activations across Nigeria. The company announced this development in an email during the weekend.

Starlink is prioritizing high-demand areas, particularly Lagos and Abuja, as it reopens to new customers. “The internet service provider has officially resumed activations nationwide, with Lagos, Abuja, and other high-demand regions leading this exciting revival,” the company stated.

It’s worth noting that Starlink had temporarily halted new customer activations between October and November of the previous year due to regulatory approvals. This pause followed an incident in October 2024 when the company, which has over 60,000 subscribers, raised its subscription prices without the approval of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
