As the June 30 deadline for Companies Income Tax (CIT) filing approaches, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has announced extended weekend services. This initiative aims to provide businesses with additional time to meet their obligations as the deadline nears.
From Saturday, June 14, to Sunday, June 29, 2025, FIRS offices nationwide will be open every weekend to assist taxpayers. This effort, led by Executive Chairman Dr. Zacch Adedeji, is part of a larger strategy to make tax compliance more accessible and less burdensome.
Taxpayers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to file their returns and resolve any outstanding tax issues. Failing to meet the June 30 deadline may result in interest charges, penalties, and reduced opportunities for waivers.
