On Tuesday, the naira saw a slight appreciation against the dollar in the official foreign exchange market.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira rose to N1,599.70, up from N1,599.94 on Monday. This indicates a marginal increase of N0.20 per dollar compared to the previous day. Unlike Monday, the naira strengthened against the dollar in the official market on Tuesday.
In contrast, the naira remained unchanged at N1,605 per dollar in the black market, maintaining the same selling rate as on Monday.
Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone, Abuja, confirmed to newsmen that the buying rate for the dollar on Tuesday was N1,605. “We buy dollars at N1,600 and sell at N1,605,” Alhasan state.

As previously reported by newsmen, the naira has shown stability since last week and started this week with additional gains in the black market.
