Bashir Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, has announced that the agency has successfully met its revenue generation target of N5.07 trillion for 2024.
Adeniyi made this announcement during the Comptroller General of Customs’ Conference held in Abuja on Wednesday.
As of November 12, 2024, the service has collected a total of N5.07 trillion.
“These strategic initiatives and collaborative efforts have produced significant results in our core responsibilities,” he stated.
“I am delighted to share that on November 12, 2024, at precisely 13:10 hours, the Nigeria Customs Service achieved its 2024 revenue goal of NGN 5.07 trillion, with a total collection of NGN 5,079,455,088,194.38, and there is still over a month left in the fiscal year.”
“This outstanding performance is expected to surpass our target by 10 percent, reinforcing the effectiveness of our partnership-driven approach to revenue collection and trade facilitation,” he added.
He emphasized that this revenue achievement was made possible through collaboration with stakeholders.
“This accomplishment goes beyond mere figures; it illustrates how enhanced collaboration, improved processes, and modernized systems can yield significant benefits for our nation’s economy.”
