The average retail price of automobile gas (diesel) sold in Nigeria decreased by 5.71% in July 2024 compared to June.
That’s according to the latest July AGO price report from the Office for National Statistics published recently.
The report showed that the price of diesel decreased to N1,379.48 per liter in July from N1,462.98 in June.
However, on an annual basis, the price of diesel in the country has increased by 73.63% from N794.48 per liter recorded in the corresponding month last year.
Looking at the state price variations, the top three states with the highest average price of products in 2024 include Taraba State (N1,721.79), Borno State (N1,694.17) and Bauchi (N1,619.54). In contrast, the three lowest prices were recorded in the following states: Kogi State (N1,186.31), Kano State (N1,211.11) and Osun (N1,246.82).
