Benue, Delta and Borno cheapest states to live in Nigeria- NBS

The National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, has said that Benue, Delta and Borno states are the cheapest states to live in Nigeria.

The NBS consumer price index and inflation data for July released on Thursday showed that Benue, Delta and Borno recorded the lowest increase in headline inflation over the year year.
Overall inflation in Benue stood at 27.28%, Delta at 28.06% and Borno at 28.33% on an annual basis.

On a monthly basis, Taraba, 0.17%, Kwara, 0.62% and Ondo 0.91% recorded the lowest increase in headline inflation.
On the other hand, the highest increase was recorded in Abuja (3.91%), Borno (3.84%) and Enugu (3.76%). DAILY POST earlier reported that according to data released by the NBS, Nigeria’s headline inflation fell to 33.90 percent in July, the first time a decline was recorded since 2022, when it was in 21.34 percent.

Similarly, the NBS said the reduction in prices of garri, fufu and others reduced food inflation in July to 39.53 percent from 40.87 percent in June.
