The Naira has continued to appreciate against the dollar in the forex market despite the ongoing protests against misgovernance across the country.
This comes at a time when the Naira has gained tremendous value in the official and stable forex market. , FMDQ data showed that the Naira appreciated against the dollar from N1,608.73 on Wednesday to N1,570.00 on Thursday.
This represents a gain of N38.73 against the dollar compared to N1,608.73 exchanged on Thursday. Similarly, on Thursday, the Naira appreciated to N1,600 against the dollar from N1,610 the previous day.
Consequently, this has seen the Naira record two consecutive gains against the dollar in the last two days in the forex market.
The Naira gained N51.12 against the dollar in the last 48 hours.
This is despite hunger strikes on Thursday in major states in Nigeria that have shut down banks and businesses.
