Buhari govt has empowered 12m farmers – Minister

The federal government has said that over 12 million farmers had been empowered since Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Nigeria, took over in 2015.
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, said this on Sunday, in Birnin-Kebbi, when he paid a courtesy call on Governor Abubakar Bagudu during his two-day visit to the state.
According to Lai Mohammed, the present administration is doing more to empower farmers in the country.
He noted that with the Buhari’s administration’s agricultural drive, more farmers would be empowered to boost food production.
“Due to the agricultural revolution, the number of farmers empowered across the country has increased from five million to over 12 million within two years of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration,” the minister noted.
“Our detractors will not believe what this government has achieved; that is why we decided to come to different villages where farming is taking place to tell the whole world our story.”
